You play 5 sets and your footwork actually&nbsp;<em>improves<\/em>&nbsp;as you get looser.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>The Technician<\/strong>&nbsp;(35%)<\/td><td><strong>First-Attack Accuracy<\/strong>&nbsp;(Landing your opening loop vs. backspin \/ your primary killer shot)<\/td><td>You miss 7 out of 10 opening loops. You hit the net frequently (trying to lift too much) or send them long (over-hitting). You have zero confidence in your loop.<\/td><td>You land 5 out of 10. Your misses are predictable (e.g., always long when the ball is high). You can rally 8-10 balls consistently, but you don&#8217;t scare anyone.<\/td><td>You land 9 out of 10. Your misses are&nbsp;<em>only<\/em>&nbsp;long (meaning you are generating heavy topspin). Your 3rd-ball attack is so heavy that 1700 players cannot block it consistently.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>The Strategist<\/strong>&nbsp;(30%)<\/td><td><strong>Point Construction IQ<\/strong>&nbsp;(Win % in first 5 shots + ability to read serves)<\/td><td>You have no plan. You serve the same ball to the same spot every time. You lose 80% of points on serve receive because you have no read. You get visibly angry after bad points.<\/td><td>You have 2 distinct serve patterns. You win 50% of your serves. You can read basic spin (heavy vs. light) on serves. You reset your mentality after losing a point within 5 seconds.<\/td><td>You adjust your serve location based on the opponent&#8217;s grip&nbsp;<em>during the warm-up<\/em>. You win 70% of your serves. You purposefully lose a point just to set up a trap on the next one. You are stoic\u2014opponents cannot tell if you are winning or losing.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The &#8220;Critical Sub-Goals&#8221; Rubric (Bonus Detail)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Because your weekly sub-goals (Serve, Receive, Footwork Drills) are the&nbsp;<em>engines<\/em>&nbsp;that drive the main roles, you must also score these 3 specific activities. Print this under your main table:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Sub-Goal Activity<\/th><th class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Score = 1<\/th><th class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Score = 5<\/th><th class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Score = 10<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Serve Practice<\/strong>&nbsp;(15 min)<\/td><td>You just toss and hit randomly. No target. You don&#8217;t watch the bounce.<\/td><td>You hit to 3 specific target zones (wide, middle, elbow) but do not vary spin. You land 5\/10 in the correct zone.<\/td><td>You vary spin (heavy backspin, no-spin, topspin) from the&nbsp;<em>exact same toss<\/em>. You land 8\/10 in your target zone and watch how the ball&nbsp;<em>decelerates<\/em>&nbsp;on the opponent&#8217;s side.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Receive Practice<\/strong>&nbsp;(reading long serves)<\/td><td>You jam yourself (elbow locked). You push everything long or pop it up for a smash.<\/td><td>You step in with your left foot (RH player) and push short 50% of the time. You loop the long ones, but with 50% power.<\/td><td>You identify the spin by watching the opponent&#8217;s racket angle&nbsp;<em>at contact<\/em>, not the ball. You flick short serves and loop long serves with 80% power and heavy spin.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Multi-ball Footwork<\/strong>&nbsp;(corners)<\/td><td>You reach for the ball with your arm instead of moving your feet. You are upright.<\/td><td>You move your feet, but take 4 steps to reach a wide ball. You recover late.<\/td><td>You take 2 explosive crossover steps, make the shot, and are back to the center&nbsp;<em>before the next ball is fed<\/em>. You are in a low squat the entire drill.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Use This Rubric for Weekly Balance (The &#8220;3-Color System&#8221;)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of every week, plot your scores on a radar chart (mentally or on paper).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>If one role is a 6, but another is a 3<\/strong>\u00a0\u2192 You are unbalanced. Your schedule next week must dedicate 2 full sessions to the &#8220;3&#8221; role.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>If all three roles are 5.5<\/strong>\u00a0\u2192 You are a classic 1500-1600 player. To hit 1800, you do not need a new stroke. You need to push\u00a0<strong>all three<\/strong>\u00a0to 7.0 simultaneously.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The 1800 Rule of Thumb:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Athlete &lt; 6.0 \u2192 You will lose to 1700 players because your balls lose speed in the 4th rally.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Technician &lt; 6.0 \u2192 You will beat weak players but lose to blockers because you cannot penetrate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strategist &lt; 6.0 \u2192 You will lose tight deuce games (10-12) because you don&#8217;t have a &#8220;go-to&#8221; play under pressure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Specific &#8220;Week 1&#8221; Scoring Mission<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For this upcoming week (starting today), I want you to&nbsp;<strong>ignore the overall scores<\/strong>&nbsp;(the 1-10 for the big roles). Instead, only score the&nbsp;<strong>Sub-Goal Activities<\/strong>&nbsp;(Serve, Receive, Footwork) after each practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here is your Daily Adaptation Rule based on these Sub-Goal scores:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">If your Sub-Goal Score today is&#8230;<\/th><th class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Your Adaptation for Tomorrow&#8217;s Calendar<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>1 &#8211; 4<\/strong>&nbsp;(Failure)<\/td><td><strong>Cancel tomorrow&#8217;s match play.<\/strong>&nbsp;Replace it entirely with isolated, slow-motion practice of that exact sub-goal. You are not match-ready.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>5 &#8211; 7<\/strong>&nbsp;(Progressing)<\/td><td><strong>Keep the calendar as scheduled<\/strong>, but add 5 minutes of that sub-goal to your AM warm-up tomorrow to reinforce it.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>8 &#8211; 10<\/strong>&nbsp;(Mastery)<\/td><td><strong>Advance the goal.<\/strong>&nbsp;Tomorrow, increase the difficulty (e.g., if serve practice was an 8, tomorrow serve only to the opponent&#8217;s&nbsp;<em>elbow<\/em>&nbsp;or add a hidden no-spin ball). Do not waste time practicing what you already own.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Final Reality Check (Expectations)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A score of &#8220;10&#8221; in The Technician does NOT mean you never miss.<\/strong>\u00a0It means your\u00a0<em>misses are high-quality<\/em>\u00a0(long, with heavy spin) and your\u00a0<em>makes are lethal<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A score of &#8220;10&#8221; in The Strategist does NOT mean you win every match.<\/strong>\u00a0It means you lose to 1900 players knowing\u00a0<em>exactly why<\/em>, and you take that data into the next practice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>You will score a 3 or 4 frequently in the first month.<\/strong>\u00a0That is not failure; that is your\u00a0<strong>baseline data<\/strong>.
